Partly, in my opinion, yes. It encourages the enemy when the left is clamoring for us to pull out and the hate America crowd is getting full blown coverage in every liberal news outlet in the country -- much like VietNam. The Newsweek article certainly did not help nor do hundreds of similar unfounded reports printed every week and all the anti-Bush rhetoric such as found on this board. With the current anti-American slant to today's press, we could have never won WWII in my opinion.

No need to "slink away from it at all. If you were considerate enough to a)not twist what I said to mean something entirely different as is your usual methodology and b)put my comments back into context, I was comparing the torture conducted by Saddam to what occurred at Gitmo and by comparison Gitmo is indeed "frathouse stuff". I stand by that comparison and unless you are some kind of lunatic you will agree.
