Ok...as a percentage of income any lower income earner pays a higher percentage of their income in taxes. Having said that, I don't know what impact the earned income credit has. I think that some tax filers may actually receive more in the tax credit than they pay in taxes. In that individual case it's possible they receive more in credit than they pay in taxes. Any higher wage earner pays a greater $ amount of taxes.

Of course on the flip side, lower wage earners are "entitled to" or eligible for a greater percentage of tax revenue through government programs.
