Most of the present deficit is from the war in Iraq and military spending in general. GDP has grown every quarter Bush has been in office. I am not saying that is bad, though it could be better I am saying the tax cuts are costing us more than we are getting back from them. Revenues have decreased and outlays have increased.

This argument you are making has nothing to do with Social Welfare at all. It has more to do with deficits and the Bush administration has done nothing to stem the tide of Government spending. Welfare rolls are down and Employment taxes are running a surplus.
