No sane company would axe such positions to fix a “reimbursement” problem

I'm not about to debate if DNDN's management is sane or not, but in all reality these employee's were part of a rollout and they probably made their initial dose. Keeping that in mind, you wouldn't believe of how much equipment sits in cold storage which was purchased with the anticipation of a massive rollout. These employees were no different.

I spent years building equipment for the food industry for the rollout of snacks when they were going to switch to P&G's Olestra. That equipment still sits in storage.
