i wrote A LONG reply and my laptop froze up...pissed me off bad since i was tring to not get on the net anyway.

very briefly, you know that the whole idea in early 2003 was that cable and the bells would get into a fight to the death for customers...cable stealing phone money through vioce(voip) offereings and the bells using broadband roll out to grab media custmers. I felt the bells would win, but commented many times that they may have waited too long to win. And the longer it dragged out the less money would be going to fo, delaying the battle. The competition is nearly in full bloom now...the latest maneuvers being the cable companies trying to go private so that they can do the needed expensive buidlout without dealing with wall street short sighted bullshit.

Now I truly don't care who wins, and want to stay positioned in semi's, voip companies, fiber. If I had to pick a few downtrodden favorites now I'd pick pmcs, sons, utsi, hlit, qcom, vrsn, amcc, nvtl, xlnx, dgin, mrvc, ffiv, jnpr.
