dat - I forgot to metion in my last long post, Yes, that IF rigs are to used; the market is very scarce indeed.
A rig was recently ''fixed'' (the term used for rental of ships or rigs etc) for the records of USD 250.000 per day. Although, U cannot compare exactly, both, by reason of what kind of rig and particularly equippment on board etc.; a SIMILAR rig was fixed some few months back at 175.000 !!!!
So, that Noble has an ALLOCATED rig ready, so much the better, and might even hv been the MAIN reason for the JDA's decision.
Yet again, I would have thought they wud use a PFSO for the intitial exploration drilling though. I don't hv a full picture of the availabilities of PFSO's, but, also here, the Quality and Standard of such a vessel, has to be put into the equiation. BUT, our advantage, is the the calm waters of West Africa don't require much sophistication, so I'm pretty sure a suitable PFSO, or two, should easily be obtainable for a job, pronto.
