The entire protocol is longer than that. Read the NCIC phase III study. That issue was discussed in the study.

Yes...bloodwork needs to be done prior to admin to make sure the patient is eligible that day...most clinics mix their own drugs (pharm or onc nurse). The issue is that any protocol that ties up chair time for a long time is at a disadvantage to one that is quicker for a busy practice....ie carbo vs. cisplatin....carbo is much shorter and easier infusion, so US oncs prefer it for most (not all) platinum based therapies.
