I understand that it is easy to exentend dual core to quad, conceptually at least, since the mechanism is already in place, and just needs to be extended.
But there is a question of additional layout, question of yields, verification cycle, all of which would be easier with MCM.
But the effort to do it the right way, even with all the costs, would be worth it, IMO. Definitely a spike, not just in a positive way, but also in a way the enviromentalist crazies understand it.
BTW, wouldn't it be humorous to compare single quad core system with entire IBM Hurricane 4 way system?
