JMHO but I think if we read PR you will see that the removal of the top sluice was due to 2 factors. The Weather and river, and the amount of black sands exceeded expectation.
It seems to me that to slow down recovery of what you ALREADY know the g/t from sampling would not be in the best interest.
Better to go into full scale bulk black sands and concentrate recovery and Wash and seperate when the weather does not let you dredge with efficiency.
I believe this is why method of work changed (dredges in tandem and removal of top sluice for quick removal of OVERBURDEN and BLACK SANDS) and was an on the ground decision based on factors we can not know for definite.
We await news on the ACTUAL g/t of the WASHED black sands and concentrate.
