In the past 5 presidential elections the avg turnout for the voting-age population has been 53.3%!...With approx 1/2 of eligible voters bothering to vote for president, and with a concerted effort on the part of the Repub party to make it difficult for some voters to vote in 2012 and 14 million Americans out of work, it is conceivable a teabagger darling promising to "grow jobs" could become president - a very scary thought!

Voter turnout for the past 5 presidential elections:
Year - Turnout of voting-age population
2008 - 56.8%
2004 - 55.3%
2000 - 51.3%
1996 - 49.1%
1992 - 55.1%
Avg: 53.5%
