i am not up to writing today as the 5th day of rain is wearing me down in what is developing into worst spring/summer in the history of Maine.(May was in fact for the NorthEast the coldest, wettest May in recorded history.)
The heating oil inventories in U.S. are at severe, dangerous low levels for this time of year.
The price of heating oil has now shattered all-time records, and it is June!.
The prime underlying reason is this brutal time in the NorthEast.
I will say this though all alternative actions you propose would do the same thing an american invasion would do, stop oil from coming to the U.S. from these venues---we can not handle this.
Bush and the neo-cons are not only militaristically foul incompetent aggressors, be it via themselves or surrogates, they are economic idiots, their every move is enhancing greatly the collapse of the American Empire, their entire strategy will blow up in the face of america, and america will deserve it as they permit it to happen.
