Where are you going to ride 150 mph on the street?
Well, I can think of several places. lol
I have another video that has a piece with a guy doing a top speed run on his Yamaha R1 sportbike. It is almost astonishiing how fast they can get upto speed.
I timed some different runs he showed as he had the video camera showing both the road and his speedometer. It was cut in two segments as he was making his way to the freeway, but it was as follows:
From 35 mph to 100, only about 5 s elapsed.
From 85 to 160 it took 10 s; to get to 175 it took 6 s longer.
Smok'in!!! My bro has hit about 150 on his and it took no time at all in the 600R.
That is the most power I'd start out with riding any sort of bike. People don't realize how tough it must be to control a much larger bike. He took the test to get licensed for a motorbike on a friend's 750 and had some trouble but passed. He saw a guy drop his Harley doing it.
In WA state they recently changed the law where you can take the riding test on any legal road bike (100 cc or 1500 cc) and if you pass, you're cleared to ride them all. I'd be hesitant to make the jump to anything over 600cc as that seems to be plenty.
Earlier today it was sunny and of course he had to ask if it is cold outside. It must be about 30 degrees, but we knew what he was thinking about. lol He really wants me to get one and a friend of his just put a down payment at a local shop. So, with all the chatter I'm going to seriously look at one in a couple of months when they start hitting the ads. Sounds like a complete blast and something I'd totally enjoy.
