Another explosion in Tajikistan. The U.S. has Tajikistan targeted for takeover. Neighboring Kyrgyzstan was targeted for takeover but another group seems to have jumped the gun.
Note: In May it was announced that Iran has begun to train the Tajikistan military after the signing of a defense accord last month. #msg-6260088
Also Uzbekistan
Overthrow the Uzbek government and pass on power to an Uzbek oligarch living in exile in the US - this seems to be the latest American game plan, tragic as it might sound. #msg-6681489
We’ll have to wait and see who did this. It is not going to make China very happy.
Explosion in Tajikistan capital There has been a powerful explosion outside the emergencies ministry in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. Monday, 13 June, 2005, 12:55 GMT 13:55 UK
Vehicles were damaged in the blast, and the ministry's windows blown out. It is not clear whether it caused injuries. "I do not exclude that this was a terrorist act," Interior Minister Khumdin Sharipov told reporters. Earlier this year, a car bomb outside the same ministry killed the driver and injured three people. No-one claimed responsibility for that blast. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/4088142.stm
Reference: Kazakhstan's Nursultan Nazarbaev, Uzbekistan's Islam Karimov, Turkmenistan's Saparmurat Niyazov and Tajikistan's Emomalai Rakhmonov will certainly need a lot of sedatives nowadays to get some sleep. Bush doctrine evangelists - whatever the outcome of the Tulip Revolution - are desperate for more regime change in Central Asia. #msg-5921444
