Now the QUANTUM trial (#msg-67039433) will evaluate the use of PSI-938 monotherapy but not for PSI-7977, which will be tested with riba and/or PSI-938. Also will be evaluated for longer - 24 weeks.

The Riba arms are added just to demonstrate how worthless the drug is when compared to monotherapy. The only thing Riba will add is AE's and/or tolerability issues IMO. Still the trial is interferon-free and there should be fewer dropouts like we saw in PROTON.

It's hard to blame some patients for dropping out the last 12 weeks of PROTON. Most were below the LOD at two weeks, achieved an SVR12, and then were expected to continue SOC for another 12 weeks.

HCV advocates will demand early access to these drugs once testing proves interferon use is both unnecessary and outdated.

Do you think we will see Peg/Riba used at all with these drugs in late stage testing?
