How would you explain that xray? What percentage of the float is it?

Maybe you missed the previous conversation on this subject, but some here believe that daily short numbers reflect trade activity that then is hidden (by covering), for some unknown reason, from the bi-monthly report. The percentage of the float does not come into play..

My explanation is the traditional one: the bi-monthly report reflects short trade positions, daily reports reflect MM activity as well as trade. The MM activity washes out of the bi-monthly, leaving a true picture of trade activity.
