Hey there brother. I've been on the job 13 years myself. I prefer to K.I.S.S. (you know what that means) technical analysis. The only reason I can see these large block trades going in AH near the close, either above or below, is to keep the volume off of the floor. Meaning there are some funds IMO beginning to add based on the preliminary Russell list.

If the MM's know they have the transaction coming there is good reason to accomodate them. It's a win-win in that the funds get thier shares at a non volatile price and the MM's get thier commission AH. Is this a good thing? You bet IMO, to me it is an indication of the confidence in GTE's share price at this level. It doesn't surprise me as it was indicated in the sqeeze before the AMEX.
