The 31% response rate with the INFI drug is promising, but it was a small (n=16) single-arm study, and again in combination with gemcitabine.
I'm not saying that CRIS is not a good investment or that risks shouldn't be taken. I just don't think that reports of a few good responses to treatment make the investment less risky, IMHO.
I would also take into consideration that pancreatic cancer is a tough nut to crack, vismodegib has failed a CRC trial, and that historically regimens that have been shown to improve response rates haven't necessarily demonstrated improved survival. On the other hand, I think there may be some downside protection given vismodegib's impending approval for BCC. CRIS does have other interesting compounds in its pipeline as well.
