I have no reason to believe that this process will not be used in the joint AMD/UMC factory. I am as much a fan of Intel as anybody around here, but the press release explicitly states they have the option to manufacture at selected partners. This indicates to me that IBM will probably put the process at Chartered and AMD at UMC. There was no way in my mind that AMD or UMC had the resources needed to develop a state of the art 0.65u 300mm process. With help from IBM they will get it done.
This is NOT good news for Intel.

Wow! Some reasoned thinking......perhaps even a bit of paranoia. Didn't think I'd ever see any on the Intel I'm OK, You're OK Corral thread. Bravo.
