TRCPA - Your post identified another advantage to torrefaction that I hadn't seen before: "All biological activity is eliminated reducing the risk of fire and stopping biological decomposition."

I have seen saw dust and bark piles combust spontaneously. Having a process that reduces this problem should also reduce the liability and associated costs throughout the distribution channel.
