brain, My comments are not intended to be Anti-Jewish state, on the contrary. But there is a certain fundamentalist population, and ideology in Israel that does not favor the peaceful existence of both peoples in Israel. The mainstream is so fed up with tension and violence, giving some political clout to Israel's far right. But the fundamentalists do not intend to "Love Thy (Arab) Neighbor" in Israel, and that is part of the problem. So the violence continues.
On the issue of drugs, I think the local police appropriately handled my neighbors child. Involving the justice system would have compounded the problems for this family, and would have served no benefit. But there is the issue of how much discression should local law enforcement be afforded, and uniform application and enforcement of laws. I continue to contribute to the annual PBA fundraiser, because I would want similar treatment if such an unfortunate situation were to arise. I would want them to bring my child home too. Our "continued support is greatly appreciated"....Such is often "justice" in America.....
