I read the link you provided on the board Bama. Although I can see why Pomwonderful may feel nervous that's where it ends. These 2 products only share the coincidence of having the same 3 beginning letters in their product names. PomWonderful's real intent is to block Pompis as a "beverage"...no matter what they called it. They don't want another competing beverage on America's store shelves. Too bad so sad.
I think they'll lose on several levels...and the money for those lawyers would have been better spent on PFOB stock. I mean think about it - Are the people at PomWonderful more interested in making money no matter what people drink or are they on a mission to make people drink Pomegranate juice! lol. I'm only half kidding.
Side story trademarks & names-
Back in the early 70's Coors Brewery fought with Miller Brewing company over the word "Light" being in the name of any other beer. Coors had been using the phrase "Coors..America's Fine Light Beer" for decades before Miller Brewing company decided they wanted to name their new beer Miller Light. Coors took them to court over the use of the word light. Coors won the case so Miller simply changed the spelling of their new beer from Miller Light to Miller LITE. And that's why (if you've ever noticed or wondered) Miller spelled the word light that way. True story.
The folks at Pomwonderful are in a long line when it comes to a million ways to waste money on lawyers in trademark wars! ;)
