Betty Ford was the best ! .... .. I adored her..she did so much for this area around here ..I just couldn't begin to tell you ..she's well known for the 'clinic' ...however, less known is that she is responsible for lifting the entire nation up, cancer ...A friend of ours is an X-acholic ... hasn't had a drink in heck, forever, actually we've never even seen him drinking ... he was telling us that when Betty got out of the Naval hospital in Long Beach .. that the next saturday .. they were all sitting in their meeting in Palm Desert ....there was a rustle at about 3 four minutes before their meeting ... .he said - VERY tall men with suits were coming in ....;).. looking around etc.. then in walked Mrs. Betty Ford ... ;) ......He told us she sat down and the meeting started ..they always ask ..do we have a new people tonight ? ..(something like that) .. and he told us She Stood right UP and .. said .. "HI, my name is Betty Ford, and I'm an alcoholic" ... he told us that was the first & last time she ever came with the sservice ...she got busy ..helped herself and many other people .. she's a legend here .......;)
