The CFR indeed is the real government of this country and has been since the 1950s. Almost all members share the goal of US global hegemony -- differing only over the best means to accomplish this objective.

This was all laid out several decades ago by Dan Smoot in his classic work -- THE INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT.

One thing that has changed over the years is the greatly increased Zionist representation in the CFR and similar elite groups like the Bilderbergers. This has been a major factor in the ever escalating militarist and anti-Arab orientation of US foreign policy IMHO.
