Re: Dumb Dulusional Dan, Re: "Meanwhile, such chips are available from AMD now."

I hate to break the news to you, Gordon, but they ARE available from AMD now.

And a response from Intel is 12 months away.

Every wonder why Intel is facing shortages for their cheap 1.6 and 1.7mhz moblile chips but while they sit on plenty of 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, and 2.13 parts?

Ever occur to you that buyers are already starting to resist spending more than entry level dollars for a notebook that won't run the new version of Windows, now that even Celeron can run the new version of Windows?

How in the world did Intel's product line manage to fall so far behind? Was it the distraction of Itanium? First gaming machines, then servers, then worksatations, and now mobile - Intel has fallen behind in every single segment.

They're like GM - they still have plenty of momentum market share, and lots of cash on hand, but informed buyers are movng at a steady rate to other brands in every one of their segments, and GM's quarterly loss of market share has become as reliable an event as the Sun rising in the morning.
