i add if i saw an evil situation building near me that would bring forth the screaming need to do "the right thing", i, who have never owned a gun would buy an assault rifle and learn to use it.
So, for instance, if a time came and they came to carry away the gay couple i have as neighbors i would attack and take out as many of the damned scum "doing their duty" before they got me---and if i was really fast, i would take them all out and go to make an escape with the gay couple, and if i had kids in my habitat, i would take them with me also.
And if i heard that "rubbish" that violence never solves anything i would just say "fuck off you self-righteous little prig, you are worried more about your soul than the horror that is happening. You would let evil run free and but still feel so righteous mouthing your vacuous "violence never solves anything".
There is a brilliant new boigraphy out about John Brown, one of the points being if it were not for the example John Brown gave, Lincoln would not have fought the civil war.
He, John Brown, made his case with many abolitionist(not all, as some remained firmly passivist), and that is , something as evil as slavery must be destroyed, period, by whatever means be neccessary.
