"..... I will make an unproven assertion, but I believe those who self-identify with the Tea Party are more likely to have Confederate ancestors than those who self-identify as Progressives."

I happen to have ancestors who fought on both sides (my mother's side evidently had several members fighting for Ohio and Pennsylvania in the Union Army, and my father's side had a few from Alabama--including an artillery officer from Texas--who fought on the Confederate side).

The irony is my opinion is split between both political ideologies. It's probably just a coincidence.....but Grey may be onto something here.

Bottom line is the two-party platform is broken by partisan bickering. That's what the Tea Party wanted. They want to divide old-school Republicans from their wily Democratic opponents. They're going about this the wrong way. And this is why I will never subscribe to that party's "ideology" for the simple reason they are heavily contributing to this mess (led by an embarrassing gaggle of slithering dipshits that are determined to "end" the Washington game).

Of course the Republicans have no one to blame but themselves...but then again, the Democrats do to (they have YET to undo the legacy of Reagan/Clinton/Bush era legislative shit that caused us to get here in the first place). At least Obama is acting like an adult. As for Boehner and Cantor? LOL....

One thing is certain, this mess will empower the masses to make a choice in 2012. This choice will benefit the the Democrats (who will benefit from this obvious Republican schism). And I predict the Tea Party will stumble out stage-left, leaving an embarrasing shit stain in our collective minds for years to come.

I will not vote for either party come November of next year. Instead, I will vote for an independent (no, not some Tea Party retard, a REAL independent candidate). This is the legacy of my fathers.....and I'm condemned to live a life of political cognitive-dissonance, hoping one day the partisan bickering will end, and our house can finally be restored......
