After Friday’s closing bell, E-Trade Financial Corp. ETFC +3.65% said it rejected Citadel LLC’s call for a special meeting as it is not in the best interests of its shareholders. The remarks are in response to a request from Citadel to hold a shareholder meeting to address several proposals, including appointing a committee to hire an advisor to review a possible sale of E-Trade.
