Here is the latest from Mr. Monk on his MIAB. I'm a bit busy but will comment later.

Howdy all….

I want to take a few minutes to discuss the status of the Box… and share a couple other notes as well…

The Box is coming along just fine and I expect I will be able to re-open it in just a few days…

As you all know, I was recently traveling and then only had a short time after returning home to prepare for the recent Uber class… This has slowed my progress on the Box a bit… I think the class went very well, but, then I might be biased, so feel free to ask any of them how they feel it has gone... both the class and their trading since then… They have told me they will be writing summaries of their trading and Den experience to share with everyone, but, if you feel that hearing from them sooner would help… I think they would happily share with you…

The final piece of the box is a Management Interface… this is the tool by which I will personally, be able to make modifications to the operational parameters of the Box… as we all have seen, the market can be erratic… The Box was running very nicely and averaging a nice daily return while running live for a few weeks… and then… well… the market decided to start going nuts acting in a manner we haven’t seen for years… For example... when you can be watching FAS and or FAZ and see FAZ go up over $1.00 and back within 45 seconds… well… That is far outside the norm for the market... and for that to happen or similar situations to happen repeatedly for an extended period time…. Well, rather than leaving things to chance, I decided it was best to turn the Box off for a bit longer till had time to calculate a few more filters….

For those that have been watching the evolution of the Box, you have seen the filters we have created and installed working very nicely… I am particularly proud of the flat period filter… When last live, the Box successfully identified flat trading times and simply did not enter the market... sometimes for hours… I have since created a gap filter for when the market gaps... I can’t say for when it gaps up or down as we play ETF’s… so if there is a gap it is both up and down for us… This will be obvious to all who have seen the Box in use so far, when we turn it back on… for those that understand what generally happens with gaps you will immediately notice the change in the Box in how it operates in the earlier part of the day…

I expect to have the Management Interface from the developers at any time now… I will let you all know as soon as I have it… Once I have received it, the Box release should only be a few days later… I will just need a little time to get used to the interface before I take it live…

Additional notes… I have been getting questions on why I am not personally in chat every day or why I have not been putting out a Mondays with Monk every week… Well, there are only so many hours in a day and I can only be in so many places at once… While I wish there could be more hours in a day… mine generally starts at 4:30 in the morning and goes till around 8:00 in the evening, sometimes even later… I simply can’t be in the normal chat room, the Uber chat room, working on perfecting the Box and still trade to make a living for myself… I know, I can do a few things at once, but… that’s a bit much for me…

Bottom line, I have to set priorities… I think getting the Box ready for widespread use is most important, that and still complying with any request from the government that need to be addressed…

So, in short… I apologize if you feel your personal needs aren’t being addresses… but, please understand that I am being pulled in so many different directions, that frankly, I don’t know how I haven’t ended up in a rubber room wearing a nice white jacket yet…

With any luck and a few blessings, things will be back to normal before too much longer… and family and trading can be the focus once again…

I will be releasing the Box progress as soon as I have familiarized myself with the Management Interface… please be patient just a bit longer…
