Hey PJ. Thanks for posting that up. I recall the inspection of trucks was an issue. FMCSA even had a comment period on this, as truckers felt it was an invasion of privacy to have inspectors in their trucks for this.
It makes perfect sense to have some sort of web based system for that. If I had to guess, inspectors would want to go directly to a centralized repository to grab a report for a truck and EOBR unit.
It does lend a little insight into the M2M discussion as well. Perhaps NVSR will look at a wireless interface between the tracker and whatever technology the inspector is using.
