Would find it interesting if any attorney, inhouse or not, would reply to random phone calls, emails or tweets on possible partners, for his employer or client, whether in the present or past. It would be quite unprofessional, unless the requestor is seeking a reference...formally, by letter on Company letterhead, imo.
That's why these transmissions to possible partners are unreliable, at best. I would not take the word of anyone...it needs to be official, in writing...just my opinion....having worked for many years in the legal field (not an atty).
