Both reports cited the growing sales of tablets, led by the Apple iPad, as the reason for the slowing sales of PCs, making Apple a winner on both counts.
"Given the hype around media tablets such as the iPad, retailers were very conservative in placing orders for PCs," Gartner analyst Mikako Kitagawa wrote.
