I have a Treo 650. Sprint had some serious voice quality issues, but I fixed that by installing a hack from http://www.shadowmite.com/

I think Sprint has finally incorporated the fix into their latest firmware patch, but I have not installed it yet.

It's a very handy device. Signal reception is good. Excellent screen quality, phone quality acceptable but not excellent. Bluetooth ear piece (Jamba) quality is mediocre; I think there are better options available now. The keypad is pretty decent, but I still find myself using a stylus and pecking. I also have the IR keyboard in case I have something long to type, though I use it rarely.

The native browser does a nice job of rendering sites not optimized for PDAs. The native email utility, Versa mail, is adequate to its task. The sync to the Palm desktop software is up to its usual good functionality.

There's no limit to what you can do with it if you are willing to spend the time. This week I'm going to get the DUN hack from the above website so I can use it as a wireless modem for my notebook where there's not a convenient unsecured wireless Ethernet network for me to "borrow". smile

One drawback is that I have not figured out how to get past Windows authentication for web access to a secure server. I suspect I'll ultimately need to do it via VPN.
