Let’s take one more look at what happened yesterday with Telvue. Checking the level 2 anyone can plainly see that there were no sells yesterday. I will be the first to grant you there were not many buys but what was there were all buys. Only a few have been able to grasp exactly what it is that is going on here. As you can see the first transaction was a buy of 500 shares at 20. Everything open and above board so far. Next transaction is 2000 shares that the market maker sold at a discount at 19. Now why would he do that. Does he have so many shares he just wants to rid himself of them. If that’s the case why then would he short 700 shares. He has zero shares and counts on people who own them to sell.
All this nonsense over a handful of shares. Can you even think about what would happen if everyone made a few buys at ask. As everyone knows he dropped the price because no one buys a stock that is going down. He does not want you to buy shares of Telvue. He has no shares to sell you. There are a few who have placed shares for sale trying to help the market maker but there are not that many people here who are not 100% dedicated to waiting for the big payoff.
How you handle this information is up to you but If you can’t see it this time you need to find something better to do.
20110708|TEVE|700|0|2700| This line is from Finra’s regsho report. As you can see there were 700 shorted.
If spelling is your thing I think that's great. At my age it's not a priority.
