As part of its campaign against pit mining in the Comstock area, the Comstock Residents Association called on citizens to attend the Thursday, July 7, meeting of the Storey County Planning Commission at 6 p.m. at the Storey County Courthouse. The CRA is calling it “the most important public meeting yet on the future of the Comstock.”
The meeting regards a special use permit (SUP) application from Comstock Mining Inc. It would allow the company to drill from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. These times reflect an amended SUP, which also features a drilling area about half the size of what was proposed in the original application.
