Re:Spallz-FAA

I read the RPPI article you posted. These Think Tankers crack me up.

>"They’re the ones who seem to be routinely lying to their customers, announcing departure and arrival times that rarely correspond to reality."<

They don't seem to be they are. They know exactly how many planes the current air traffic control system will handle per hour. Yet they still advertise, schedule and over book more than twice as many planes as the current system can handle in that hour. They are simply lying. Thats just one end of the deal. They also know how many planes are going to be stacked up at your destination and what the approximate landing delays are.

>"Even without adding runways, newer equipment and software can reduce flight delays by allowing planes to take off closer to each other and by expanding the number of airways between cities."<

I think the current rate of take offs is about one every two minutes. Just how close together do we want these planes taking off? If one of them has a little booboo on take off you don't want the guy behind him barreling down on him at 200 miles per hour.

Hey if someone can come uo with the technology to make flying a safer more service orientated experience at about the same cost I got no problem with that. Who knows maybe one of these think tankers will write some software that will get our luggage to the right airport on time.<G> Or is that the FFA's fault also?
I know what happened when technology hit the service station industry. I had to pay a dime more a gallon to get my oil and tire pressure checked, oh and don't even ask someone to wash your windshield.
Since tecnology hit the phone service I haven't talked to a human on the phone without going through some recorded voice mail option menu that usually doesn't address my question and then it's a 5 to 25 minute wait to get someone on the line that may or may not speak intelligible english. It all looks good on paper though. You know why, cause it allows big business to do more volumn with fewer employees.

What is RPPI some lobbiest group for unbridled big business?
