Do you have any references to back that up? That is the popular wisdom I believe;, however I distinctly remember reading a rather scholarly recent article stating emphatically just the opposite. I wish I could remember where. That in terms of actual profits traditional manufacturing is much more profitable. For instance all the internet dot.coms really never have made any profits to speak of.

I believe you mean two gold based dinar currencies. I believe they are meant as a challenge to the dollar.
