But they sure can look out for their own self interest by cultivating relationships within the ranks of the companies they are supposed to be regulating, so they can be retained by them later for their regulatory agency connections... even when I call my elected reps offices I get the sense that the person answering the phones is more interested in satisfying the next lobbyists that calls into their office than they do the constituents.. so even the office staff's of our elected officials are just as insincere and just looking out to make that right connection with some big wig that could offer them that right private sector job... this is what politics and regulatory agencies have become.. stepping stones to more lucrative paying positions in the private sector...
