however, I see nothing wrong with it.... they do it in China and Singapore and their kids blow ours away in testing...... we are raising a soft generation that will not be able to compete globally.

I guess if you grow up with abusive parents, you become an abuser as well.

The reason we're being blown away by most other industrialized countries around the world is not because we're not beating our kids enough but because of the republican war on education and the dumbing down of Americans. And they're doing a mighty fine job of it too because about half the country (the red half) doesn't believe in climate change, evolution and every other part of science that doesn't square with their bible.

So since you made a conscious choice to "beat" your kids, have they become nuclear physicists or something equally brainy?
