My MOM had a GREAT boyfriend .. her later years, yes, she did .. ;)

........he lived to be 99, we thought he would make to 100, but he didn't .. God love his soul! .. such a GREAT MAN!!! We missed him so much ..anyway, my story about him ...

He used to tell me about how in the depression ( his family was up in Utah ) that it was his job to dig for the potatoes in the frozen dirt .. then he told us about how a rotten potato smelled, and it was the worst thing ever ... he finally got out of there playing baseball all over the US ..;) .......He had a childhood sweetheart still in UTAH. They got married and he kept traveling playing ball ... ;) ......then Vera had their first baby and he started thinking that maybe his playing baseball life wasn't perhaps the right thing to be doing as a family man. So he went up and told Vera to pack and that they would be going to California and that SHE would love it ever so better than UTAH .. ;) this was during the depression before the war ... oh well, I'll quit here ...my point was to remember those potatoes he was digging up in the frozen ground and to remember the smell of a rotten one ... ;) and oh ... btw,

........he was right ! the entire family loved California .. ;)
