NFC, or Near Field Communications, is a new technology and merchants, mobile carriers, and other affiliates are facing problem areas. The NFC technology needs an embedded chip to be built into the cell phone to store consumer’s personal data, hence making private information open to security risks if the devices are lost.
Systems using the Near Field Communications hardware, such as Google Wallet, may lead to loss of personal information and fraudulent purchases, said cMoney.
However, cMoney is designed to use the consumer’s existing cell phone via an uploadable application, eliminating the need for a new purchase. Consumers can store and access up to thirty debit and/or credit cards. The cMoney solution does not store personal information on the customer’s phone, ensuring data security.
