Since they either didn't do the DD, or did it and joined the scam anyway, their pretense of being legitimate businessmen is put to rest.

That is jumping to conclusions. Unless you were a part of it, you cannot say they didn't do their DD and stating that they joined the scam is begging the question on whether or not it is a scam. You can't prove your point by stating something like "My point is my point and therefore my point is correct."
