I believe you meant to state that Zetia lowers LDL, rather than raises HDL.

I meant exactly what I said. From page 11 of Zetia’s FDA label (http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2009/021445s026s027lbl.pdf ):

ZETIA reduces total-C, LDL-C, Apo B, and TG, and increases HDL-C in patients with hyperlipidemia. Administration of ZETIA with a statin is effective in improving serum total-C, LDL-C, Apo B, TG, and HDL-C beyond either treatment alone.

This fits in with the Goldfinger quote in #msg-63656000 insofar as Zetia raised HDL in the ENHANCE study, just as it was expected to do. Regards, Dew
