jaydubs, okay, fair enough. However...

I'm 100% positive it will never happen. Imagine this scenario: the powers that be force the MM's and brokers to buy back all the illegally naked shorted shares. Does it stop there? Not a chance. Every company on all exchanges who believes they are a victim of NSS will demand the same justice. Once Pandora's box is opened, there's no stoping it.

The cost and the amount of work to be done proving how many shares we're talking about would be monumental. The SEC is already badly understaffed. They'd probably have to hire 10 times the amount of people they have now. It would take months, probably months and months. Imagine FINRA and the SEC having to put up with this for all those other companies out there? I know there are rules against illegal naked shorting, but getting the SEC or FINRA to enforce those rules will never happen. It would be a nightmare.

However, it would be funny if they actually did this for WAMUQ! LOL.
