9 Terrorists Killed in South East Turkey Nine PKK terrorists were killed by Turkish troops.
"Nine terrorists were killed last night in the village of Yaylagunu ... in Tunceli province," one official told Reuters.
The troops, backed up by helicopters, have been combing a wide, mountainous region for rebels for the past five days. Three Turkish soldiers were killed and four wounded on Friday in the nearby province of Bingol in an ambush by the PKK terrorists.
The PKK launched its armed campaign in southeast Turkey in 1984 with Syria’s and other state’s assistance. Greece and Greek Cyprus was one of the countries supported the PKK terrorism. Greek MPs visited the PKK camps and Greek Cyprus gave fake passport to help Abdullah Ocalan, PKK’s leader. The PKK terrorism cost 30,000 lives. Local officials in Tunceli told Reuters troops had captured a large cache of rebel weapons and explosive materials during their latest operation. "Many PKK members have been preparing for various actions in the area and the operations are continuing against them," one official said.
Turkish Army officials say that the PKK terrorists captured the C4 explosion materials from Iraq.
PKK is considered as terrorist organization by the United States, United Kingdom, and the European Union.
