I don't think that from a tax point of view the fact that independent pay both parts of the payroll taxes, while employees only half makes a difference, that is still a flat tax of 15% on the first $75,000 o so of gross income (before any deductions). If it was not the case, Corporations would report payroll taxes in their
pre tax income, but they don't.
