Hey all. I reached out to John after yesterday’s PR. I had wondered if the EOBR was configured like a PC, meaning it could have several cards with an asset tracker being one of those. Sort of like how a PC has a video card. I was curious to see if the upgrade to the asset tracker affects the EOBR. That is not the case. Below, you can read the email,

No problem at all Don.

I think you are breaking it down too much. Suffice to say, the technology mentioned today is the same technology used in EOBR's. Basically, we are now making everything smaller, better, cheaper and faster. However, we were already way faster then the EOBR rule requires, so there shouldn't be much difference noted there. The asset tracker does not plug into the EOBR. We use the same satelite feed for different purposes and a lot of the end result is just from different programming.

I hope this answered your question. If not, let me know and I will give it another shot.

John

Subject: Asset Tracker Question

John, I apologize for bothering you today. I did see today’s press release and was hoping for a little clarification. These upgrades look like they pertain to the asset tracker. It sounds like it is even smaller than the current one. More importantly, it improves GPS tracking. Does this affect the current EOBR in any way? I was wondering if the GPS piece of the asset tracker is a card that also goes into the EOBR. If that is the case, would the new card plug into the current EOBR? Is there any information you could provide on that?

Thank you for your time,
Don
