Check out my post 292, a few lines down. Another problem with DTC ineligible stocks is that even if you're willing to take the hit on the fees to trade on paper, you may not be able to find a buyer on the other end. The stock could easily become worthless. Of course, just because MMTE is DTC-ineligible now doesn't mean it will continue to be in the future if it can pick up volume. It also doesn't mean your broker won't trade it now. Depends on your clearing house. Mine is Penson, and they won't deal in any stock on the list without the $200-$700 in processing fees I mentioned. Google DTC ineligible to learn more about it, and ask your broker how they handle MMTE. This is important to know.
