IGNORE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Here are my observatiobns today, took a friend, so 2 pairs of observing eyes.
1- post office here was not crowded today at 11 am. a major post office in central NJ.
2-Best Buy crowd: about half of post thanksgiving Friday
careful observation over an hour showed: 80% of sales of people in line were 1 or 2 cds, and items totaling under 30 bucks.
APPLIANCE area TOTALLY DEAD, PC AREA very slow, laptops better. BUT total sales of pcs i saw: one emachines.
Video games selling well...but i think this will be "it"
TONS, I MEAN TONS of cheap dvd players were in huge stacks in many areas of the store. Relative to post thanksgiving, few were being sold.
3- Circuit City, ONE THIRD AT BEST size of crowd relative to post thanksgiving Friday. I was "surrounded" by salesman as i wandered. (just browsing i mumbled)...store felt sad....
PC AREA DEAD... busiest areas digital cameras
4- STAPLES.... DEAD..time to short
5- Office Max...almost dead
Walmart, VERY busy..but the same trends.,.most stuff being bought was the lowest end ie. microwaves for 50 bucks, dvd players for same, cheap cheap stereos and genealized plastic junk
6-Mall at Woodbridge CENTER FULL......but a sense of desperation in my dealings with staff. Primarily cheap heavily discounted stuff was what i saw people carrying. Higher end stores slow.
7-In the mail...Sprint sent me a courtesy 25 buck phone card!
SO, I DONT SEE ANY PROFITS HERE AT ALL
I wish Carl Sagan was alive (a great man) to prove black holes do exist..as the economy may be entering one.
Who here wants to comfort the parents of the soldiers below?
4005 brave American soldiers killed..sent to their death by a cowardly president called bush and the opposition that enabled it.
