This latest study does make the initial analysis
by the Church appear to be in-correct. It remains
to be seen how much of this study will be accepted
by the Catholic Church in the USA, and then
eventually by Rome.

My previous SYNOPSIS, which angered you, was
based on the actual reaction of Rome to the
scandal, thus far. Rome may have reacted
un-wisely and/or out of ignorance. These new
studies may eventually change the mind of the
Church in the USA and in Rome.

In a statement, read out by Archbishop Silvano Maria Tomasi at a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Genevaon 22 September 2009, the Holy See stated that the majority of Catholic clergy who had committed acts of sexual abuse against under 18 year olds should not be viewed as paedophiles, but as homosexuals who are attracted to sex with adolescent males. The statement said that rather than paedophilia, "it would be more correct to speak of ephebophilia; being a homosexual attraction to adolescent males[...] Of all priests involved in the abuses, 80 to 90% belong to this sexual orientation minority which is sexually engaged with adolescent boys between the ages of 11 and 17."[102]
