Yes, I completely understand Jaysense situation and certainly cannot blame him as he has alot of people counting on him.

Spartacus on the other hand didnt really give such a great answer.
( because he didnt participate in any negotiations and felt useless in that very short time frame) Maybe there are other reasons he did not disclose.
